Community Action Council Howard County - Food Bank
On May 19, I had the opportunity to provide a virtual cooking class for the Community Action Council (CAC) of Howard County in support of the Howard County Food Bank. I’ve lived in Howard County for over 30 years and I had no idea the CAC provided such services. The work these folks do for the community mostly goes unnoticed but is absolutely critical to those in need. I learned a lot about the council, the Food Bank and the wonderful people that support it this week. Whether you are aware this existed or not, I strongly urge everyone to head to their website and see how you might be able to help. Whether it be food donations, volunteering or a generous donation, I am sure there is a way for all of us can support their efforts and this wonderful cause.
This is taken directly from their website -
“The Howard County Food Bank provides food to Howard County residents in need. CAC also sponsors (14) emergency food pantries that support families in need of emergency food assistance. As a healthy food bank, we are committed to alleviating the effects of hunger by providing adequate and nutritious food items to families. CAC distributes fruit and vegetables grown at its community garden and offers educational programs that support healthy eating habits for families. The Howard County Food Bank is supported by donations from individuals, groups, community food drives, as well as partnerships with grocery stores and supermarkets.”
Please visit their website and check out all the great services the CAC provides to Howard County!
