Thai Basil Chicken
The other day my wonderful sister-in-law stopped by my house and dropped off a beautiful bunch of Thai basil. If you are not familiar with it, Thai basil has smaller leaves than traditional Italian basil, purple stems and purple and white flowers. It’s a bit spicier than it’s Italian kin.
This summer I was grew the Italian variety and used it in all my Italian cooking. I was excited to cook with this new bunch. Pictured is the result - a delicious Thai Basil Chicken with red peppers, Thai green chilies, garlic, in a sauce comprised of oyster sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, white and brown sugar and a bit of broth. Served over white rice it makes the perfect fall weeknight meal!
